Our Mid-Grade mix has basically all the better species of wood in it, but excludes Red Maple, and only contains a small amount of Ashwood.  The most common species of wood that is included will be Oak, Black/Silver Birch, Sugar Maple, with some Beech, Japanese Cherry, Hickory, Cherry and some Locust too.  Majority of the logs will burn and remain an ember over an hour each (depending on the airflow, this rate can go down or up).  Remember to start your fires with the "lighter" logs first, before adding any Oak/Hickory/Beech/Locust to it, as these wood species can require high heat temps to ingnite rather than flame alone.  Best to start with the Maple, and/or Cherry or thinner pieces of Birch.  Always use actual kindling along with any typical fire starter/Fatwood.
